Violens – Amoral

September 25, 2010

So this is my first music post for LostHairdressers.com. Expect more to come. Be sure to leave comments. This band is one of my favorites, sharing members with the now defunct Lansing-Dreiden and if you have heard them, you will most definitely be able to tell. This track is one of the stand outs on their soon to be released full length “Amoral”. Enjoy

Whimsical and folky… I think I love it! Would love it even more if they played in the states sometime soon. Looks like they’ll be in the UK for a while, but this will give me time to get acquainted with their album. Nice touch – the music, but how does it relate to hair?

That is a good question. To me music goes hand in hand with fashion and therefore in hair. I can find inspiration from anywhere and just the mood that this band incites is enough to get my mind going. Violens in particular definitely have New Wave undertones or you might even say overtones. That sound alone makes my mind wander regarding the hairstyles that were big within this scene in the 80’s. That’s my reasoning anyway. I’m really glad you liked the song though. Definitely check out Lansing-Dreiden too.
